The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government-run military veteran benefit system, employing nearly 280,000 people at hundreds of facilities across the country, which administer programs for 22.2 million veterans.


With programs, tools, and people in 50 regional offices around the world, the VA was attempting to manage their efforts without a centralized case management software system. They needed a solution that would allow case managers to provide prompt, consistent service across a broad range of agencies and channels. With Microsoft  Dynamics 365’s ability to handle the complex requirements of case management, the VA gained the flexibility, scalability, ease of use, and business process automation they needed to link with multiple data systems, providing a single user interface. Piloted as one of the first inter-agency solutions for care management between the DoD and VA, this new, single system–which replaced 13 separate systems–allows 1,500 case managers to provide seamless, comprehensive programs and services to more than 100,000 service members and veterans.
