TV Still Holds A Commanding Lead Over Other Video Platforms

The latest Nielsen evaluation of weekly usage of TV and media devices shows that TV is still far ahead of competing video platforms.  TV holds the lead, by far, ahead of video on a personal computer, smartphone, and tablet.  This information could be beneficial when planning multi-channel marketing campaigns.

As discussed in “TV Still Top Medium In Usage, Reach,” posted by Wayne Friedman on MediaPost.com, results from Nielsen reveals that consumers watch TV approximately 36 hours and 7 minutes, watch videos on a PC for 1 hour and 30 minutes, video on a smartphone for 13 minutes, and 11 minutes on a tablet each week.  TV ranks at 87.2% in regard to reach and video on a smartphone is 36.9%, video on a PC is 36%, and on a tablet is 17.5%.  Radio and TV has the largest reach, according to Nielsen, with radio reaching 223 million listeners weekly and TV reaches 209 million viewers weekly.

Since TV holds a commanding lead, it seems natural that businesses would want to focus advertising and marketing efforts on this medium.  However, there are many other opportunities to consider in addition to TV.  No matter which medium you focus on, you can manage multi-channel advertising and marketing  efforts with the support of a customer relationship management (CRM) solution.  A robust CRM solution, such as Microsoft Dynamics® CRM, can be used to manage customer-centric data, as well as advertising and marketing efforts.  You can monitor responses to each unique marketing campaign to learn which methods work best to attract new prospects or which efforts customers may prefer.  As you get to know your customers’ interests and tastes, you can fine-tune marketing efforts to further improve responses.   You can also personalize marketing efforts by sending specific promotional materials to the customers that are most interested in those products or services.  Identifying these trends and being selective with marketing efforts can save you valuable time and money, as well as strengthen relationships with your customers.

There are many ways to reach out to new prospects and engage customers.  Contact AKA Enterprise Solutions to learn how CRM can support your advertising and marketing efforts, no matter which marketing avenues you pursue.
