Supporting the Clients We Work With: AKA Sponsors the 7th Annual Lunch for LifeWorks

AKA works closely with many non-profit organizations as their strategic IT partner. Not only are these engagements always challenging and interesting, but the added bonus is that we get to be a part of solutions to problems faced by real people every day—and we are honored to work side by side with amazingly talented and dedicated people. It never gets old…and sometimes we get the opportunity to take one step further into their world.

On April 18th, 2019, AKA joined 200+ donors and their guests at the 7th Annual Lunch for LifeWorks, the agency’s largest advocacy event of the year. AKA was also a proud sponsor of the event.

LifeWorks is a fierce advocate for youth and families seeking their path to self-sufficiency. The organization is committed to innovative problem solving, shared accountability, and achieving real, sustainable, measurable results for their clients.

LifeWorks engaged with AKA in 2018 to implement AKA’s Social Services Case Management for Non-Profits solution, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. A cloud-based, integrated client and case management framework, Social Services Case Management is designed to support the full client life cycle, from request through receipt and follow-up of services. The tools included support the case management aspect of social services focused on self-sufficiency in areas of mental health, education, employment, housing, and more.

A Vision Put Into Action

They’ve definitely put their vision into action: Based on 2019 stats of reducing homelessness, LifeWorks’ goal to end youth homelessness by 2020 is right on track. In 2019, they achieved a 24% reduction in youth homelessness overall and a 57% reduction in unsheltered youth homelessness. These are very exciting statistics, and we’re glad to have played a role in it by providing technology solutions that support their efforts, like mobile capabilities that are helping case workers and counselors working out in the field.

In fact, as a result of our work with LifeWorks, we were honored to have been named 2018 US Partner for Social Impact by Microsoft. This award recognizes leading cloud consultancies and Microsoft Dynamics partners for innovation and achievement with nonprofits.

This year, the luncheon’s theme of Building Up: Youth Voice, was designed to bolster the agency’s continuous efforts to ensure that the voices of their clients are heard and valued. The event included testimonials from current LifeWorks clients and donors, a video highlighting peer support and “lived experience,” and a shared vision of their 3 main pillars – Housing, Counseling, and Education/Workforce Programs.
