Microsoft Gold Partner AKA Enterprise Solutions Celebrates 2019 Accomplishments and Gears Up for 2020 at Its Annual Employee Meeting

Every year in February, all the employees of AKA Enterprise Solutions meet in New York City—where we’re headquartered—for our annual meeting and party (we gather in February rather than December because holiday schedules are always hectic, and meeting at the beginning of the new year is a great way to kick it off).

With nearly 130 employees dispersed all across the U.S., the opportunity to have everyone in the same location at the same time—and with everyone’s schedule cleared for a couple of days—presents a unique opportunity to get as much value for everyone as possible.

The result is always a great party that celebrates the opportunity to see each other face to face, as well as very productive time spent recapping the previous year’s accomplishments, learning new things, discussing our challenges, and setting goals for the new year.  And this year did not disappoint.

The largest event yet—and an expanded agenda

This year’s event was our biggest yet—with just shy of 100% attendance—and for the first time ever, we expanded it to 2 days to provide each area of the company with an opportunity to meet individually. With the extra day, our Sales, Solutions, Marketing, and Existing Customer teams attended a full-day workshop, while our Development and Consulting teams attended technical training sessions on Power Apps and more.

An added bonus: AKA moved its headquarters to the Empire State Building in 2019, and everyone had the chance to visit our great new space. We’ve been in NYC for 30 years, so we love being a part of one of its icons!

All hands on deck!

On Friday afternoon, we kicked off the “All Hands” portion of the event in a new way: with an “AKA Trivia” contest. An extra fun twist was added by a Power App that allowed everyone to submit their answers from their mobile device! It was a fun and creative way to kick off the meeting.

The rest of the afternoon, we reviewed our performance and accomplishments in 2019 and discussed goals for continued success in 2020, including targeted, proactive goals committed to by each department to help AKA get there.

Recognizing those who went above and beyond

We wrapped up the day with the best part: recognizing 2019’s employee promotions, 20+ new hires, and our Shared Value Awards winners. Every year, our entire company votes on awards for employees who have best demonstrated a commitment to each of our 8 shared values—including Client Empathy, Quality, and Teamwork—plus an award for best representation of all our values. We’re thrilled that every year, there are so many great contenders for each award that it’s hard to pick just one winner.
