CRM Technical Solution Architect

When did you start at AKA?

December 2016

What attracted you to an opportunity with AKA?

AKA’s work from home policy was a big attraction for me. The company offers a rare work-life balance and I finally get to have my evenings back. At my former employer I had to manage an offshore team throughout the night and I am thankful AKA’s developers are in the United States.

What makes AKA different than any other employer that you have worked for?

What makes AKA different is that you feel part of a family working here. Everyone genuinely cares about how others on the team are feeling. Team members are always asking how you are doing or how your vacation was; it really feels like a family.

Can you share a rewarding experience from your time at AKA?

The company party and events in February were very exciting for me. I had the chance to meet everyone at AKA which was a great opportunity. With previous employers, I would go to a meeting and know less than 10% of the people there. Now I know almost everyone at AKA, and at the party I was able to talk to and get to know a lot of them!

Anything you would like to tell future AKA employees?

AKA offers a lot of opportunity and different challenges on their projects. You are sometimes working on more than one project at a time, or you might get the chance to work on Managed Services as well. This allows you to interact with a lot of different people which I like very much.

Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I once was assigned to a project in Finland and Germany. I spent a month there by myself. When I arrived in Finland it was during their winter season and by the time I traveled to Germany it was their spring/summer season!

Opportunity

Name:

Med

Title:

Senior AX Consultant

Start Date:

January 2017

What attracted you to an opportunity with AKA?

The first thing that attracted me to AKA was the fact that it’s a company that has been growing organically. Next was the reputation I read on Glassdoor. The employees had very positive things to say about the company. I always look on Glassdoor when applying to new positions, and AKA’s ratings were great.

What makes AKA different than any other employer that you have worked for?

AKA is different because it is not a big global company where you get lost between the hierarchies. It is a company that is very well managed. You have direct access to upper management which is great.

Can you share a rewarding experience from your time at AKA?

Not being micromanaged is a rewarding experience. Also the ability to work on the latest and greatest versions of AX is very rewarding for me.

Anything you would like to tell future AKA employees?

You are going to be joining a company that will contribute to your career growth and experience. While at AKA you will become a better consultant and the role you play on every project will be encouraged and celebrated!

Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

In my spare time I like to paint, although I am usually the only audience to my paintings. It is a hobby of mine and I like to look at all of the colors.

Opportunity

What is your name?

Matthew

What is your title?

CRM Presales Manager

When did you start at AKA?

January 2017

What attracted you to an opportunity with AKA?

The biggest attraction was that AKA focused on ERP and CRM, where my current employer only focused on CRM. The way Microsoft is combining the systems you have to be able to do both. At the time I was only looking for Microsoft Partners that had an AX and CRM practice and AKA fit that mold.

What makes AKA different than any other employer that you have worked for?

The difference is that there’s accessibility to all of the executives, they are very easy to talk to and always around. Upper management seems genuinely concerned about their people, and it is evident that Jack and Alan really value their employees as well.

Can you share a rewarding experience from your time at AKA?

I have been working on interesting presentations for customers. In my previous roles I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Financial Services or Healthcare clients, with AKA I have been able to do so. Already I have worked with interesting customers and have been given challenging problems to solve.

Anything you would like to tell future AKA employees?

AKA has a family based culture and the option of remote work is great. The company does not require you to move or re-locate and that was a big deciding factor for me.

Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I was one of the first 500 people in the world to be a Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer.
